1.KALLMI

Kallmi is one of the only beaches in Durrës, where the human hand has not managed to damage the natural habitat.

The meandering of the coasts has created numerous natural bays, transformed into rocky and sandy beaches, which are visited by locals and foreigners in large numbers during the summer. Even the latter have become among the most regular visitors.

For those who want to escape from the noise and stress of a dynamic and intense life, Kallmi is the answer they are looking for.

Located about 4 km from the city center, the road infrastructure leaves much to be desired, but this does not deter beachgoers. With their vehicles, rental cars or on foot, they do not hesitate to take the road that winds around the hills to reach the desired destination, which is like heaven on earth.

The rates for sunbeds on private beaches vary from 1000-2000 ALL and in some of them you are allowed to take food or thermoses with you. For foreigners, the prices are several times more ultra than the service offered.

If you don’t prefer private beaches, nature still reserves for you virgin beaches in small and little-explored bays. In these cases, an off-road vehicle is more suitable, as the road is difficult to traverse.

Holidays with family or with friends? The choice remains yours, because Kallmi is suitable for all age groups.

After a few hours on the beach, you can have lunch at the restaurant, where the bill usually ranges from 2000-3000 ALL per person, while eating fresh seafood.

2.PLAZHI I MADH & SHKËMBI I KAVAJËS

With the intensity of construction in the last 30 years, ‘’Plazhi i Madh’’ in Durrës and the area of ‘’Shkëmbi i Kavajës’’ are the most populated during the summer season.

With its shallow sandy coast, this area is perfect for a family holiday. Little ones love this beach.

Against a fee starting from 1000 ALL, you can enjoy quite relaxing moments on the private beaches.

There are also public spaces, but they are few in number.

The urban line that crosses the beach and the proximity to the city makes this area easily accessible by anyone.

If you want to add adrenaline to your vacation, water sports are what you are looking for.

Budget or luxury vacation?

Here you can enjoy both, as with 3, 4 or 5 star hotels, Airbnb apartments and private villas, this area suits all budgets.

Each hotel has its own bar and restaurant, where you can enjoy traditional dishes or a menu based on meat or fish.

At dinner, nightclubs with the sounds of traditional or contemporary music offer you unforgettable evenings.

3. GJIRI I LALZIT & SHËN PJETËR

It lies at the northernmost end of the bay of Durrës and is one of the most popular and visited beaches.

We are talking about the beach of Gjiri i Lalzit, which with its wide sandy strip, green crown and completely reconstructed road infrastructure has become a “magnet” especially for vacationers from Tirana and the diaspora.

Foreigners have mostly discovered this in recent years due to the serious investments that have been made in the area, in terms of luxury accommodation structures.

Extending from Hamallaj to the far end in Shën Pjetër, this coastline offers everything you are looking for a comfortable and relaxing holiday.

If you want to stay away from noisy and very visited beaches, Shën Pjetër offers you all the peace you want.

On the beach of Shën Pjetër, there is no lack of public spaces, but also those for camping.

This area offers the lowest sunbed rates on the entire Durrës coastline, as you can still stay there spending only 500 ALL.

4.PORTOROMANO & BISHTPALLË

On cartography, it is known as Kepi i Palit, while the locals use the toponym ‘’Bishti i Pallës’’ (Bishtpallë) to name it.

A thin strip of land extends about 2 km towards the sea, while the small bays created by the twists of the natural landscape are among the most beautiful beaches of Durrës.

The natural protection that the hilly area guarantees to the sandy and sea area has turned it into the favorite of the residents of Durrës, both for those who visit it for the first time and for regular visitors.

The fees for the sunbeds are 1500 ALL, but you can also stay in public spaces.

Hand games on the beach are another fun way to spend your vacation time in good company.

For foreigners, these beaches are the perfect vacation spots because you can find everything in one place.

In addition to the bar and restaurant that offers a very varied menu, where seafood dominates, there you can find considerable spaces for camping or for a few days’ accommodation in small villas, where the daily rent is 50 euros.

Portez is not the only beach in this suburban area of Durrës.

Porto Romano offers other public and private spaces along its coast.

The characteristic of these stone beaches is the very clean water and the tranquility that they offer in abundance.

More attention should be paid to the cleaning of public spaces, which have the highest attendance on weekends.

5. CURRILAT

Currila is known as the “Albanian Capri” located in Durrës.

Currila remains the traditional beach for the locals, unquestionably on the top list of the most visited beaches by all age groups.

Despite the radical changes in the last 30 years, many have remained loyal to this coastline, which starts from Sfinks and extends to the border with Kallm.

The sandy and shallow coast is perfect for family holidays. Meanwhile, swimming enthusiasts can cover long distances in the crystal-clear waters of the Adriatic.

Proximity to the city and urban lines facilitates access to this coastline.

Sunbed fees start from 700 ALL, while public spaces are hard to find.

The restaurants in the area offer varied menus, with prices ranging from around 3000 ALL per person.

Several hotels in the area offer a comfortable stay at reasonable prices.

6.SEKTOR RINIA

Sektor Rinia is the desired destination for nature explorers and adventurers, as well as those looking to escape from the sea and the fresh air of the pine forest.

Unlike Durrës, which is overflowing with construction, in this area, only 17 km from the city, it seems as if time has stopped to allow nature to flourish.

The narrow and unpaved road connecting the rural area with the coast does not hinder the mass attendance at the sandy area and the bars and restaurants by the sea.

Sunbed fees start at 800 ALL, but there are more public spaces here than on any other beach in Durrës.

The expansive yet varied terrain creates perfect opportunities for nature exploration.

A horse ride is mainly preferred by tourists, who are amazed and intrigued by the virgin nature.

The lagoon on both sides of the road leading to the sea offers a diversity of flora and fauna.

Locals regularly fish in the lagoon, the “home” of many birds, such as seagulls and storks.

The greatest asset of Sektor Rinia is its “green lung,” the coniferous forest.

This large natural park, which covers about 116 hectares, is perfect for organizing picnics in the fresh air in the tall pines after enjoying the coast of this area for a few hours.
